Hurricane Irma Ruins Football Weekend + Fantasy Football Begins

This past weekend Hurricane Irma ripped though south and west Florida. My thoughts and prayers go out to those who where directly effected by the category 4 monster. Luckily for me, I only lost power for 2 days and there was no major damage in my area. Unlucky for me, Florida State and other Florida universities postponed their first home games :(

But no worries, The Jacksonville Jaguars were able to play their away game... ironically in Houstan, Texas. The "Hurricane Bowl" if you will. Irma vs Harvey.  If you are a Jags fan you know how much this win means to our city. To win the regular season opener on the road is a HUGE deal for a team who has went 3-13 in 2016 and 5-11 in 2015, losing both regular season opening games.

I'm so happy my power was still on for this game because it was so amazing to watch. Not only was Blake Bortles' performance surprising (not a single interception thrown) but our defense really had my jaw open the entire game. I mean, 9 sacks, forced fumbles to touchdown, and caught interceptions. Just wow.

Our first round pick, Leonard Fournette, had an amazing first NFL performance. With over 100 yards rushing and his first career touchdown in the books, I think this kid will have an amazing season and an even better time just playing the game he loves.

Needless to say, the Jags defeated the Texans 29-7 and I couldn't be more excited. But this doesn't mean they can "just chill". We know that the Jags has a way of falling off after a big win. We play the Titans at for our first home game and we all know Marcus Mariotta isn't someone to mess with. Here's an article that perfectly articulates what the Jags need to do to put us back on the map.

We haven't talked Fantasy Football yet so here is my week 1 outcome. I was so happy to snag Odell Beckham Jr. in the first round but he sprained his ankle in the preseason. I'm worried we wont see him on the field for a while since he is continuing to have limited practice. Either way, my team still won thanks to Kareem Hunt of the KC Chief's performance against the New England Patriots.
I am team TDs Out 4daBoys, naturally.

Wine of the entire weekend (THANKS IRMA): Barefoot Moscato... and occasionally Bacardi & Dr. Pepper
